Someone may shower you with compliments, gifts, affection, constant texting, and promises about the future very early in a relationship. They may tell you that you are their soulmate within days or weeks. They may insist that they have “never felt this way before.”

In healthy relationships, affection develops gradually alongside trust, mutual respect, and emotional safety. Love bombing, however, often creates emotional intensity before true intimacy has had time to form.
